Verizon Innovative App Challenge Finalists
Help our 8th Grade STEM team win it all!
Verizon Innovative App Challenge Finalists

Congratulations to Brandi McMahan and the following students for winning the Best in State Award in the Verizon Innovative Learning App Challenge!  Caleb Cook, Riley Franceschini, Jacob Goude, John Michael Holderfield and Blake Stringfellow, all 8th graders in our 8th grade STEM class.

They developed an App called "Future Folder", a digital file that allows students to gather resources, documents, test, score and also provide suggestions for when students apply for universities.  It would be stored in one location on a mobile device and make that process of applying to a university an easier situation

Their App was chosen the best in the state of Arizona over 1800 other entries.  They won $5000.00 for our STEM program here along with each of the team members receiving a Verizon Nationwide Fan Favorite Contest where they now compete against the other 49 states team winners.

If selected as the Fan Favorite Award Winner, each team member would receive an all-experience paid trip (along with one of their Parents) to Orlando this upcoming June to work with MIT Engineers to actually develop their Future Folder App, GrJHS would also receive an additional $15,000.00 for our STEM program.

How can you help?  Vote by texting the word FOLDER to 22333 , it is free to vote and you can only vote once per mobile device (your standard texting messaging rates apply).  After you vote, please share this message to vote with your friends and family to help our Grizzly Team.  They represent the state of Arizona and let's spread the word!  The voting window opened yesterday and ends on February 14th.  Thank-you in advance for your assistance!
