Eighth grade science is a fast paced class in which students will master scientific concepts and engage with the curriculum through many activities and labs designed to enhance their learning experience. Some of the topics that will be covered this year include Cells, DNA and Heredity, Ecology, Molecular Chemistry, and Physics. Students will also learn about current events in science so that they can more readily relate to this field of study by becoming aware of the presence of science in the everyday world around them.
I am a 3rd year teacher. I have a B.S. degree in Biology from Arizona Statue University and my secondary education certificate through Rio Salado College. I previously taught Lab Bio at Highland High but have returned to my original home here at GRJHS. I have two daughters; a freshman at Highland High and a 5th grader at Greenfield Elementary and have been married for almost 20 years. I am a teacher because I love science and helping young people see the value of this amazing field of study.
